Nature Conferences
Values & Commitments

Nature Conferences value diverse perspectives, expertise, and experiences.
Our goal is to create welcoming, accessible, and engaging events that foster collaboration and innovation. We are committed to ensuring that all attendees—speakers, poster presenters, volunteers, service providers, and staff—experience a safe and productive environment.
Commitment to Balanced Representation:
• We believe that broad and balanced representation—across disciplines, geographies, career stages, and cultural backgrounds—strengthens scientific dialogue and impact.
• We feature a wide range of perspectives and voices in our conferences, with balanced representation across keynote speakers, session speakers, short talk presenters, and poster presenters.
• We aim to invite an equal percentage of women and men as keynote presenters (where there are two or more), speakers, and an equal percentage of short talk presenters selected from abstract submissions (dependent on the number of submissions).
• To support this commitment, we design our conference programs to reflect a mix of backgrounds and perspectives, rather than being limited to a single demographic group. We work proactively to include a diverse range of voices in every element of our programming.
Commitment to the Integrity of Presenters:
Nature Conferences selects speakers based on the relevance and impact of their work within the conference theme. We respect each presenter’s research, innovation, and theoretical contributions.
• Nature Conferences does not alter or edit presenter content.
• While some perspectives may be contentious, we uphold the principles of academic freedom.
• For transparency, we will publish the following disclaimer in the conference program:
“The views and opinions expressed in this program/conference/event are those of the speakers and do not necessarily reflect the views or positions of Springer Nature, its entities, conference partners and/or sponsors, editors, and by extension, the organizing committee.”
Commitment to Conference Experience:
We are committed to fostering a professional, engaging, and rewarding conference atmosphere. All attendees, organizers, and partners must abide by the following Code of Conduct:
• Communicate openly, respectfully, and thoughtfully, considering different viewpoints and backgrounds;
• Engage in discussions with collaboration and constructive critique in mind; and
• Show professionalism and consideration in all interactions, including with attendees, staff, suppliers, and vendors.
Prohibited Behaviour:
The following actions will not be tolerated and may result in removal from the event or legal action where applicable:
• harassment, intimidation, or discriminatory behaviour (in person or on social media);
• inappropriate comments related to personal characteristics, appearance, or background;
• threats, physical or verbal bullying, or disruptive behaviour;
• unwanted advances or inappropriate use of explicit imagery;
• disrupting conference sessions, poster presentations, or official discussions; or
• failure to abide by venue policies and regulations.
Commitment to Adherence to Local, National, and International Laws
As part of Springer Nature, Nature Conferences complies with all applicable local, national, and international laws. Our legal commitments include:
Data Privacy & GDPR Compliance
We adhere to General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) standards to ensure the privacy and security of attendee data, including:
• transparent data policies on collection, usage, and retention;
• secure storage and processing of personal information; and
• attendee rights to access and control their data.
By upholding these commitments, Nature Conferences ensures a professional and ethical environment where all participants can engage meaningfully, contribute their expertise, and advance global scientific discussions.
